About DualShockers

Since publishing our first article in July of 2009, DualShockers has become an established name in the video game industry. What initially set out to be a means of “getting into E3” has transformed into a 24/7 365 publication that is renown by hardcore gamers throughout the world for breaking and reporting news in the video game industry — and all things related to video games — as it happens.

Outside of our relentless news reporting, DualShockers also provides its community of readers with a plethora of in-depth previews, editorials, guides, and of course: reviews (which are featured on Metacritic).

Throughout the years, DualShockers’ news reporting and content has been shared across the many avenues of the internet including well-known publications like IGN, Kotaku, and Gamespot. In that same time DualShockers reviews and previews are often featured in ‘accolades’ trailers from companies like PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, Square Enix, Activision, Ubisoft, Electronic Arts, Tell Tale Games, and the list goes on.

To visually understand who we are and what we do, check out our sizzle reel below.

Meet the DualShockers Editorial Staff:

 /  Editor-in-Chief
Lou Contaldi is the Editor-in-Chief at DualShockers, specializing in both reviews and the business behind gaming. He began writing about tech and video games while getting his Juris Doctor at Hofstra University School of Law. He is maybe the only gaming journo based in Nashville, TN.
 /  Executive News Editor
Hailing from sunny (not as much as people think) Italy and long standing gamer since the age of Mattel Intellivision and Sinclair ZX Spectrum. Definitely a multi-platform gamer, he still holds the old dear PC nearest to his heart, while not disregarding any console on the market. RPGs (of any nationality) and MMORPGs are his daily bread, but he enjoys almost every other genre, prominently racing simulators, action and sandbox games. He is also one of the few surviving fans of the flight simulator genre on Earth.
 /  Features Editor
Ryan is the Features Editor at DualShockers, with over five years' experience in the world of video games culture and writing. He holds a BA in English & Cinema from Binghamton University, and lives in New York City.
/  Assignments Editor & News Editor
Tyler Fischer is the Assignments Editor and News Editor at DualShockers. He specializes in writing breaking news, managing assignments, and organization. Born and raised in New York, Tyler studies journalism and public relations at SUNY New Paltz. In his free time he enjoys playing and watching soccer, getting lost in game lore, and writing comedy scripts.
 /  Staff Writer
Azario Lopez has held multiple positions in the game's media industry. At DualShockers he focuses on providing coverage for niche and indie video games in the form of news updates, reviews, and interviews.
 /
Jordan Boyd is a Staff Writer at DualShockers, specializing in indie games, RPGs and shooting titles. He's majoring in journalism at Stony Brook University on Long Island. During the 7th console generation, Jordan faced a crippling blow with the release of Aliens: Colonial Marines that scarred him for life.
 /  Staff Writer
Jordan is a Staff Writer at DualShockers, where he covers the latest in indies and collectibles. He has a degree in Creative Writing from University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire. He is currently based out of Portland, OR.
 /
Josh Brant is a staff writer at Dualshockers. When he isn't gaming or writing on anything PlayStation or the Nintendo Switch, he is spending time with his wonderful family in the glorious Queen City: Cincinnati. After Final Fantasy VII opened his eyes to the power of video games, he has never ceased to take on a challenge -- especially anything in the Souls/Borne universe.
 /
Leif Conti-Groome is a staff writer at DualShockers who mainly focuses on indie games and crowdfunding campaigns. He was a contributor to the niche game podcast Total Control and he frequently lends his services to the Torontonian enthusiast group, The Hand Eye Society.
 /  Staff Writer
Logan Moore is a Staff Writer at DualShockers who focuses on all things PlayStation. He is also an audio and video production student from Indianapolis who spends his free time podcasting over at Model Citizens Media or micro-managing his fantasy baseball team.
 /
Jack of all trades, master of none. I've been playing video games since the tender age of 5, starting with the NES. Writing about video games is one of my passions alongside horror movies and hip-hop.
 /
Noah Buttner is a staff writer at Dualshockers. He specializes in textual and visual analysis and is based in New York, where he is pursuing a degree in Journalism from Stony Brook University.

 /  Staff Writer
Tomas Franzese is a Staff Writer at DualShockers, writing a variety of reviews and shedding light on upcoming games for both PC and consoles. While he has been a gamer most of his life, he began writing for DualShockers last year, and has almost never put his computer or a controller down since.

DualShockers Webmaster:

 /  Chief Technology Officer
A gamer since he was old enough to push buttons and a programmer for over 15 years, David Fenster can "see the code" in games. While today he uses his programming skills to write web applications, he intends to someday revolutionize the world by inventing morph ball and portal gun technologies. His favorite games are the Xenosaga series, Heavy Rain, and The World Ends With You because they are "story-driven and imaginatively unprecedented."

Meet the DualShockers Founders:

 /  Co-Founder
Joel Taveras is one of the founding members of DualShockers. He hails from New York City where he lives with his wife and two sons. During his tenure with the site, he's held every position from news writer to community manager to editor in chief. Currently he manages the behind the scenes and day-to-day operations at the publication.
 /  Co-Founder
Born and raised in New York City, Yaris is one of three co-founders at DualShockers. Gaming since the inception of Nintendo in the 80's, he has grown to avidly appreciate games of every genre, maturing his preference specifically now to third-person action games, first-person shooters and JRPGs. He's a software engineer, father and husband during the day, and mildly attempts to hold onto his "hardcore gamer" title during the evenings. An attempt that he tends to fail miserably at.
 /  Co-Founder
Al has been gaming as long as he can remember and will continue to game until his fingers break off or video games cease to exist. A New York native born and raised he crashed into the gaming journalism scene in 2006. Since then he has become the on air personality for DSTV and loves every second of cursing while interviewing developers about serious topics. Aside from being a gamer he also has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering that does not help in the gaming world but does provide for fun stories when people say "what?".Favorite games: Contra (NES), Mega Man II (NES) and Final Fantasy III (SNES)
